Sheng, The Gaido-Slam Master

A Totally Real and Definitely Not Made-Up Book Review by Sheng’s Classmate

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 out of 5 Gaido-slams)

Okay, first of all, I picked up this book because it had a cool title. “Gaido-Slam Master” sounds like someone who can solve problems by dramatically slamming into them, which is basically my life philosophy.

What I liked most was that Sheng wasn’t trying to be the strongest or the smartest. He just kept showing up, trying again, and somehow turning disasters into adventures.

The Gaido-slam scenes were awesome. I don’t know if “Gaido-slamming” is an official sport, but it should be. I’d definitely join.

The story is funny, fast, and surprisingly heartwarming. It reminds you that being good at something isn’t always about winning. Sometimes it’s about getting back up after you’ve spectacularly embarrassed yourself in front of everyone. Again, very relatable.

My only complaint is that the book ended. I wanted at least three more chapters, a movie adaptation, an action figure, a video game, and possibly a theme park ride.

Final Verdict:
If you like adventure, friendship, ridiculous situations, and characters who refuse to quit even when common sense tells them to, Sheng the Gaido-Slam Master is worth reading.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to attempt a Gaido-slam off the couch. What could possibly go wrong?*

Editor’s Note: Everything. Everything could go wrong.
